Eighteen hardy ramblers (including welcome guests Rose Claire Tracey and Sam and undercover agent Jackie) assembled at a cool and overcast Pen Y Fan pond at the start of our 7.5 mile walk today. We started on the road between the solar farms then turned left to Twyn Simon farm - a change from our usual route because of flooded fields. We then headed north along an old railway track to Ty'r-graig where we had our first well-deserved break. We then climbed steadily past Ysgubor newydd all the way to Manmoel and lunched in a field overlooking the playground. Refreshed, we then turned southeast past Ton-yr-efail-fach climbing steadily and passing nearby the trig point on Mynydd Pen-y-fan. It was then down through Pentrapeod to the road back to the pond. A superb autumnal walk ably led by Peter and a lovely group of people for company.
