Muggy but warm weather greeted the 9 Merthyr Valley Ramblers (including welcome guest Alison and new Merthyr Valley Ramblers member Andrea) at the start of our 8 mile walk in Hirwaun yesterday. We followed the Cynon around the old ironworks and crossed the railway using the crossing. We then followed the mineral line to Pontbren Llwyd, had a cuppa and continued past the church and around Tor-y-foel where we stopped for lunch. It was then downhill all the way past the back of the distillery to rejoin our earlier path down back to Hirwaun and a rest! A lovely walk, expertly led by Jenny and fabulous company.
