Aberdare rivers and lakes, 8 August 2026
Twelve happy ramblers met at the Dare country park in Aberdare today. We started by following the Afon Dare then crossed the river to Aberdare park. It was then through Trecynon to Ysgubor-wen farm where we stopped for the proverbial cuppa then continued to the disused railway line which we followed. We then zig- zagged past the golf club to thenAberdare canal nature reserve where we lunched. Once through, we followed the Afon Cynon for a short while then skirted Aberaman and had a final cuppa. It was then homeward bound following another disused track. A lovely walk thanks to John and all the great company.
