Aberdare to Mountain Ash and return, 7 February 2026
Another very wet but lovely walk led by the indomitable Jenny today. As always, new places visited and new friends made. Thanks to those who came on the walk today - wetter even than last week! At least we had clean boots at the end of it. And great to see some new faces - a soggy introduction to the group. During the walk we passed through the old phurnacite plant. While the plant operated, the surrounding area was shrouded in yellow - washing, trees, sheep ..... And peoples' health suffered - so 'smoke free' fuel could be supplied to smokeless zones (mainly London).
