Today’s three-season walk (no autumn sadly) started off in bright sunshine from Bargoed woodland park. We five ramblers (including welcome guest Jill from Pontypool) walked alongside the river to Morrisons roundabout. We continued parallel to the river and through the Bargoed suburbs, had a quick cuppa then skirted around the golf course. We then headed south over Gelligaer common and through Penpedairheol to lunch in the grounds of St Catwg’s church. More hail cut short our lunch so we made our way through Gelligaer to Tir-y-berth then followed the river back to the carpark. A big thanks to Peter for a cracking walk and for arranging the weather so that both breaks were dry! And of course, the great company that made for a perfect walk.
