Bright, sunny weather greeted 8 lucky Merthyr Valley Ramblers (including welcome guest and new group member Mark) on today’s walk from Carreg Cennen Castle. From the carpark, we climbed steadily to castle view where, after the obligatory pictures were taken, we continued to Gelli-groes where we turned Westwards. At Grip-Fach, we headed South to Blaencwm where we had our first cuppa on the banks of the Afon Cennen. We then followed the river past Trap to Cwmcennan where we found a nice, shady spot to have our lunch. Heading South, we picked up the Beacons Way and made a big loop back to the castle and a welcome cool drink in the lovely cafe. A big thanks to John for an unusual and splendid scenic walk and to all for the great company.
