It was a bright sunny start from Dare Valley Country Park for 16 lucky ramblers on today’s 11.5 mile walk. We walked along the park towards Aberdare then turned South to climb up to Graig Rhiwmynach where we had our first cuppa in what looked like an old quarry. More climbing followed as then we levelled out and dropped into and walked through Cwmamman. It was then up again to lunch in Bedwlwyn and then pick up the forestry road to the West and on to Castell Nos reservoir where we followed the Afon Rhondda Fach. Just before the next reservoir, we turned North East along the Coed Morgannwg way then dropped back into the park. Although the walk was long, the outstanding views and great company more than made up for the tired legs. Thanks to John for a great Ramble!
