28 happy ramblers (including 9 welcome Mortimer rambler guests) set off in good weather from Cyfarthfa castle for our Castle to castle walk today. After walking through part of the park, we made our way alongside the Taff Fechan up to the site of the long-gone watermills by the water treatment site. Once the cuppas had gone down, it was the long climb up to Morlais castle where we had lunch. Food eaten and scenery admired, it was back down to the blue pool and along the far side of the river. Afternoon tea was taken by the Gurnos bridge then it was the 49 steps up to the Taff trail, past Pont y cafnau where a potted history was given , Swansea road and back to base. Thanks to all for a great experience
