Clydach gorge ramble, 22 November 2025

The awful weather didn't deter 15 ramblers on our Clydach Gorge ramble. Walking partially along the old railway line from Brynmawr to Abergavenny. We walked through a old industrial area which includes taking in the misty views due to the bad visability of the ancient beech trees. These were planted originally to be burnt for charcoal to fire the iron works at Clydach, coke replaced the wood thus these trees survived. The return journey took us along the recently renovated tram road back to Brynmawr. The car park was welcome as it never stopped raining and 15 soggy ramblers made their way home. Thanks to Morfydd and Rob for an interesting walk.
