It was a poignant walk for 17 ramblers (including welcome visitors Chris, Carol, Lynne, Tracey, Lisa, Lisa and Esther) on today’s Chris and Colin’s memorial walk today. The seven mile walk started with a steady climb in mixed weather through the edge of Cwm Clydach and up the steps to the forestry road. At Llynypia, we headed West past Blaen Clydach to Mynydd y Gelli which was the highest point of the walk. Here, we shared stories about the two wonderful people who we were lucky enough to know and share walks with. It was then onward to the forest where, with the rain starting to fall, we sought shelter for a quick cuppa. We then circled the mountain and found a new way into Clydach Vale where we had lunch at the lakeside and swapped more stories. We then followed the river and went up through the woodland in a big circle back to the car park. I’m sorry there’s not more pictures from me as I was leading but other postings about this walk have more than made up for it! A very big thanks to all who came and made this walk so good.
