Glorious sunshine greeted the 17 ramblers ready for Peter's walk from Cwmcarn. The 7.3 mile walk began with a steep uphill which tapered off gradually but nevertheless continued uphill through beautiful forests for a further 2 hours until we reached Mynydd Henllys for a well deserved lunch. After lunch we continued uphill to the highest point of the Cwmcarn scenic drive, Twmbarlwm at 419 metres. Excellent visibility afforded us great views of Pen y Fan to the north and the Severn estuary to the south. A steep but quick downhill got us back to the beginning with plenty of time for an ice cream.
