Dinas Powis - Salmon Leaps, 31 August 2024

Near perfect weather greeted the 10 Merthyr Valley Ramblers at Eastbrook railway station today. At the stroke of 10, we started the 8 mile walk by heading along the road, turned up Millbrook road to Turnpike road and took the footpath where we skirted Dinas Powys golf course. Passing through Coed Clwyd-Gwyn, we headed north to Michaelston-le-pit where we turned west along the salmon leaps. We followed Wrinstone brook to Wrinstone farm where we turned north then east to Cwrt-yr-ala and then lunch. Heading north east for a while, we then turned due south past home farm and along the Cadoxton river back to the station. Another brilliant walk led by John, the great company and surroundings made this a superb ramble. Thanks to all.
