Today’s short taster walk started in damping weather from Llanfoist car park. The four hardy ramblers set off on our (as it turned out) four plus mile walk along the old railway path, being sheltered from the occasional shower by the surrounding trees. After two and a bit miles, we stopped for a cuppa and enjoyed the fresh air and the surroundings. We’d been keeping an eye on the weather and we felt that it was worsening so we decided to turn back. A wise decision as it proved to be for with half a mile to go, the heavens opened. We were all fully kitted with weatherproof gear so this was no problem and we soon arrived back at the car park.
