It was a sort of Karate Kid walk for six lucky Merthyr Valley Ramblers today - coat on, coat off due to the occasional biting wind! Our 8 mile walk started with a walk from the lay-by down the road to the footpath. From there, we made our way to the raised bog at Waun Ddu where we continued past Craig y Cllau to our first cuppa below the escarpment. We then carried on along the tramway to Coedcai Uchaf farm where we turned south and climbed up for a rest at the lonely shepherd. Food and drink consumed, we then retraced our steps, (bumping into old friend Simon on the way) then turned off to a higher tramway parallel with our track and carried on until we joined our original path. We then retraced our steps back to the lay-by. A superb walk thanks to Rob and Morfedd and the great company (not forgetting the dogs!)
