A rather mixed weather forecast greeted the 14 lucky Merthyr Valley Ramblers (including welcome guests Marilyn and Lyndon) today and so it was to be. Damping soon changed to heavy rain almost as soon we started our 9 mile walk from the car park by the lake but it didn't last long and the fabulous scenery more than compensated for the muggy weather. We had headed east from the carpark, through Llangorse and past Ty-Mawr farm climbing continuously until we met the three rivers ride trail, where we had our first cuppa. Rain was still intermittent but fading as we headed north to cockhit hill then turned south to the fort and lunch. We then continued south along the top of Mynydd Llangorse to the cairn where we headed westwards and downhill through forest and ferns to the adventure garden. Onward then to Llangorse where we had a well-deserved drink in the castle before heading back to the car and home. A big thanks to Lynne and Martina for a fabulous walk and to all for the wonderful company.
