Parc Slip, 4 July 2026

Parc slip country park welcomed 14 Merthyr Valley Ramblers (including welcome guests Peter Abhishek and Jen) with bright sunshine today. From the car park, we climbed gently northwards past Cwmrisca and picked up part of the Ogwr ridgeway walk to Pen-twyn, resting only for a quick cuppa. We then crossed the railway lie to Bettws where after some road work, followed the footpath to Bryngarw house where we had lunch. It was then flat all the way as we followed the Ogmore river into Aberkenfig where we followed the railway to Parc slip, visiting the miners memorial on the way. A cracking walk over many underused footpaths expertly led by Robert, backed by Stephen and the always great company.
