Pencelli & Llanfrynach Circular, 27 Sept 2025

9 ramblers including guests Naritha, Alice and Nathan started from the lay-by in Pencelli and headed towards Llanfrynach, turning up towards Blaennant Farm. We then took a footpath and eventually arrived at a stile (which had a dog gate). From there, we took a fairly steep route up towards the Bryn, where we paused for coffee with views across to Llangorse Lake, before heading down towards Tregaer Farm, passing the newly renovated Tir Hir Farmhouse on our way. Thankfully the rain stayed away. On reaching Tregaer Road, we turned in the direction of the Cwm Oergwm valley. After about half a mile, we turned towards Nant Manascin. We crossed the brook on a footbridge and then climbed a rocky, wet, lane up towards the "Three Rivers Ride," which we then followed towards Llanfrynach. We paused for our lunch alongside the brook we had crossed earlier. We then continued into Llanfrynach, passing Ty Fry Farm (an early 17th-century Grade II listed building). We entered the village of Llanfrynach and took the back road towards Pencelli. The walk was ended with a pint in the village pub. Thanks to Geoff and Judith for a lovely walk.
