Cold and icy weather greeted the 12 hardy Merthyr Valley Ramblers (including welcome guests Ron Nichola Jane Heidi and Sue) at the start of our 6 mile walk from Penderyn today. It started brightening up almost immediately as we followed the road south then turned westward towards Craig y Dinas whilst enjoying spectacular views of the snow-covered Beacons. One cup of tea later, we turned northeast then north to our lunch stop, just before the waterfall Sgwd Yr Eira. Freshly fed and watered, we went down the new path to the waterfall which was free flowing and no ice. After climbing back up to the path, we turned southeast along the well-worn paths onto the road back to the start. A big thanks to Morfydd and Rob for a cracking walk and to all for the superb company.
