Pwll yr Wrach Nature Reserve, 07 January 2023

The bad weather forecast proved to be wrong as 15 lucky Merthyr Valley Ramblers (including welcome guests Barbara, Amanda, June and Linda) started our 8+ mile walk from Talgarth today. In unusually warm January weather, we followed the river Ennig through the very muddy Pwll-y-Wrach nature reserve up to the main waterfall, by which we had our first cuppa. Then, it was cross country and more mud to Pen-y-Bryn where we turned North then zig-zagged to the stream running down Cwm Cwnstab where a well-deserved lunch was consumed. Refreshed but with the temperature dropping, we continued on to Rhos Fawr where we turned West to Rhos Fach (more mud and now light rain) then to Wern Fawr and the car park. Many thanks to Lynne and Martina for organising a great walk and to all for the fabulous company.
