A cracking ramble up to The Garth mountain today. Great scenery, lovely company and sweet pooches. Thanks to John for organising it. After a short section on the road, 6 of us took the path into Garth Wood, which led us into Coed y Bedw nature reserve. We then joined the Taff Ely Ridgway to the top of Garth Hill, the inspiration for the book and the film The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain. There, we enjoyed the panoramic views while having our coffee break. We then took the easy descent through fields and woodland to the River Taff. We followed the river until we reached the footbridge, which led into the park where Taffs Well is situated. Finally, we picked up the Taff trail, which took us back to the start.
