Up and down the Avon Nedd Fechan, 6 July 2024
Rainy weather greeted ten lucky Merthyr Valley Ramblers ( including welcome guest Brenda from Dinefwr ramblers) today. From the Angel inn, we started our 7.5 mile walk up the Afon Nedd Fechan, visiting Sgwd Gwladus, Sgwd y Bedol, Sgwd Ddwli and Sgwd Ddwli Uchaf to name but a few before finally stopping for lunch at Pont Melin Fach. Walk leader Jenny had been giving us wonderful information about all the silica mines, flora and mills as we made our way upwards. The sun had come out by now and we returned by the same route. A superb walk thanks to Jenny and the great company.
