10 Merthyr Valley Ramblers braved the elements today for Andrew Pyne first walk lead. Although we started in damp conditions, we were dry and warm for most of the walk. Setting off from the Usk Reservoir dam we made our way to Mynydd Wysg and the Glasfynydd Forest, I quickly dispelled the myth that I could walk on water whilst navigating a very boggy field and ending up on my knees ankle deep in the wet stuff! We made our way to the eastern edge of the reservoir and forest where we had our lunch break before following the forest path alongside the reservoir with views back to the Black Mountain. Thanks to Andrew Pyne for a very succesful first walk lead, to all that attended particulary Alan Hancox who has been missed in recent weeks!
