Brilliant sunshine greeted the six lucky Merthyr Valley Ramblers on our 8.5 mile Wenvoe walk today. We started off through the suburbs of Wenvoe then turned west through Wenvoe wood where we turned NW and alongside the fields through St Lythan’s where we admired St Bleiddian’s church. We then went through Beech wood and alongside fields of wheat and barley, passing St Nicholas where we had our first cuppa. We then visited the restless dead chambered tomb at Tinkinswood and then continued through butter-cupped fields heading South past Dyffryn gardens to Old Wallace where we turned eastwards to New Wallace and Lunch. Refreshed, we zig-zagged past Goldsland and Burdonshill to return back to Wenvoe. A superb walk thanks to Chris and Carol and the great company.
