Wild Garlic, Bluebells & Three Bear Caves, 29 April 2023

Bright and warm Castell Coch sunshine greeted 26 lucky ramblers (including welcome guests Rudolpho, Debora Dafydd, Kay, Maisie and Sue) the start of our 9 mile walk today. We started by climbing through Forest-fawr and after skirting the Castell heights golf club, settled down for our first cuppa in a field of wild garlic. We then walked across the Ridgeway golf course before heading North to Caerphilly common and lunch by the trig point. The mist was building up at this point and we thought that rain was on the way but the sun burst through and warm weather returned. Returning from the common, it was roadwork before we turned West and crossed the Nant Felen and brushed past Craig yr Allt, then zig-zagged to the Taff trail. It was the Taff trail all the way back. A big thanks to Martina and Lynne for a wonderful walk and to all for the fabulous company!
