In brilliant sunshine, 13 lucky ramblers (including welcome guest Lewis from Pontypool) met up in Parc Taff Bargoed at the start of our 8 mile walk. Expertly led by Chris, we first wended our way through Edwardsville and crossed the railway at Quaker’s yard station. We then made our way up to Treharris park where we enjoyed our first cuppa and enjoyed the statues and the dazzling sunshine. It was then cross country heading northwards and climbing gently until we reached the old quarry where we enjoyed the fantastic view up the Merthyr valley, sitting quietly and in brilliant sunshine below the Brecon Beacons. After a well-deserved lunch, we swung north east then generally southwards, ending up back at the Parc. A superb walk, brilliantly led and with great company - and did I mention the brilliant sunshine? Thanks all!
